Sizzling French fries might sound like something to skip on Don’t Fry Day, but this Friday has nothing to do with food. We’re talking about skin protection!
That’s right, the Friday before Memorial Day is national Don’t Fry Day to raise awareness about overexposure to the sun's harmful UV rays as we kickoff summer.
Memorial Day is a wonderful time for family barbecues, trips to the lake and sipping cocktails on the deck, but the risk for UV damage increases in warm, sunny weather. UV damage looks like wrinkles and dark spots, but it can eventually lead to skin cancer — the most prevalent form of cancer in the U.S.
So Sol Sisters, as you’re preparing for a fabulous weekend, don’t forget to add these items to your party planning or travel checklist.
- UPF, sun protective clothing (Sol La La styles can help you out with this one.)
- Wide-brimmed hat
- Broad-spectrum sunscreen SPF 30+
- UPF powder
- Shady spots for activities
Enjoy the Memorial Day holiday and think Don't Fry Day this weekend and all summer long.
